Design Inspiration Sites
Looking at pictures for design inspiration is one of my favorite things to do. I am currently in the process of moving into a new place, so I have spent a lot of time on these sites researching ideas and themes to give me a plan. These are the sites I go to most often and what I like to do is save all of my favorite photos in a folder on my desktop. I call this my ideabook and I’ll go back and look at it as I go through my design process.
HOUZZ
Houzz is a website and an app. not only can you search decorating ideas but you can search virtually anything! From color schemes to different cabinetry finishes, this website/app has it all. My favorite feature has to be the little green tags. The photos on Houzz have little green tags which tell you the price and where to buy certain items you might like.
Pinterest really needs no introduction. Whats great about this site is basically everything; from pinning to compiling ideas, to finding a favorite new blog or website, Pinterest can take you in so many different design directions. Whether it be decorating a new powder room or a wedding cake, Pinterest has something for everyone.
WALLPAPER*
Wallpaper* is one of the greatest magazines of all time, and their online version is just as good! This magazine is definitely intended for the architecture and design savvy reader. What I enjoy most about this magazine is that it’s not limited to interiors, they have articles and tons of pictures about art, fashion, and travel which all transition easily into one ‘lifestyle’. So if you’re looking for something new and fresh or even a little avant garde, wallpaper* is definitely the way to go. What sites are your favorites? Leave a comment below and I'll be sure to check them out!
